In the year 1921, a woman was born on today’s date (February 8) who can make your worst relationship seem like a trip to Disneyland.
Her name was Lana Turner.
Relationships show us things that were previously invisible. You had no idea how much you loved cooking for someone until a relationship came along. The concept of playing video games all day was foreign to you until a peaceful connection appeared. And your hate for the sound of coffee grinding in the morning became increasingly clear during a passionate love affair.
During these experiences, you learn what bothers you. Also, you discover things about yourself you’d like to change. For example, your lack of patience. And in Lana’s case, the inability to disagree and still have peace and security in the home.
It doesn’t matter how highly we think of ourselves or how the world puts us on a pedestal, life has a way of testing our limits; constantly pushing our boundaries.
Think back at your life and your worst relationships. Most of us have been lucky compared to Lana Turner. I would not wish that kind of chaos on my biggest haters.
Have you had it worse than the troubled Lana Turner? I sure hope not…
